Description
This is our most popular inside-the-waistband holster. The “More Discreet” features multiple points of adjustable retention along with an added “wing” below the trigger guard. This “wing” presses against the inside of your belt which forces the grip of the firearm in towards the body. This reduces printing and conceals the firearm more.
* The full-size model is the 4.25″ and the compact is the 4.00″

Simple, effective, and oddly enough, it’s versatile. I bought a version for the Smith and Wesson M&P9 2.0 4″ Compact with the Thumb Safety (mouthful). High sweat guard, thumb safety, TLR-7. I buy most of my pistols with a manual safety similar to a 1911/2011 so that I don’t lose muscle memory for their manual of arms when I shoot polymer pistols.
The good: One of the things I truly appreciate is the fact you can holster the pistol with the safety engaged. I know, it seems like a no-brainer but there are companies out there going through the motions and DO NOT offer this despite the product being made for a safety. You essentially holster a pistol with the safety disengaged. Fortunately, QVO holsters do not have this problem. As an extra step, I think it would be cool to see the safety channel molded to actually engage it if left on “fire” or at least make it hard to holster, but that isn’t a huge deal. Main reason is, this holster was actually compatible with my Kimber KSD9c when used with a TLR-7 sub, hence the comment about versatile. I was hesitant to buy another holster, so I tried looking around my garage for holsters, then realized this one I’d had for over a year worked fine. I was stoked! Overall the holster is made well, the fabric hasn’t peeled or begun to cause issues despite a year plus of daily carry with two wildly different pistols. That is another issue I’ve run into with a few other companies.
Kudos to the crew for great customer service. In addition to AIWB, I also carry off the body in a cross-body bag when I don’t have a belt. The 3D printed tuck tab had broken when it was set down a little roughly. QVO didn’t just send out a replacement, they sent several without much question. I simply sent a pic as requested and they roger’d up like professionals.
The bad: My only two issues were the optic cutout was too high, so my M&P pistols never went all the way in and rested on the optic rather than going completely in and engaging retention at the weapon mounted light. I bought two holsters for 2 identical pistols and both had to be opened up for both a RMR and EFLX. I then decided to (of my own accord) open up the area right below the grip because of my particular hand size. My knuckles would hit every time and my initial grip was very inconsistent during my draw-stroke. I trimmed it level with the top of the tuck tab, then rounded it to match the original cuts. After doing so, the M&Ps came out smooth in a solid grip due to great height adjustment options, especially when seated in my vehicle with my seat belt on. Weirdly the Kimber is even faster and more consistent. To be fair, I was fine doing the mods myself rather than trying to get QVO to do it considering their work load. I’m positive they would’ve been all over it had I reached out to them.
Overall, worth the investment. Kydex holsters can be a dime a dozen, but you also get a simple, yet useful product with a crew of professionals on the other end willing to help. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because of the optics cutout. Small tweaks would be great, but I feel like I may be the first to give an opinion on this specific platform due to industry feedback or support for M&Ps being limited. Probably because everyone is a Glock fanboy.
